The Case of the Mysterious SRPMIC-IS

SRPMIC-IS must belong to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, an indian reservation demarcated in white on the map above. It popped up on the radar screen back in December or November sometime, and judging from its coverage pattern along SR101 is probably a highly directional antenna oriented at some oblique angle from N-S. No WEP encryption. Maybe some kind of remote telemetry unit? Or an Internet feed to some remote site in the hills? This data was taken on one trip down the 101 on the way to work one day.
Somewhere around the end of February 2003 the node went quiet. Don't know if it isn't there anymore or just not beaconing.
