| DIRECTIONS |
|
Get off I40
at exit 1 and head north to the railroad overpass. The dirt road
along the south of the tracks provides access to Topock control
point, about 1 mile east. The road is very dusty but should be passable
by low-clearance, 2WD vehicles. Proceed at your own risk.

| COMMENTS |
|
While not too
far from some form of civilization, you are far enough that depending
on the weather and your state of preparedness it can be lethal.
Come prepared with tools, water, spare tires, big hat, etc.
Topock CP is along the edge of the mighty Sacramento Wash, which
rivals the Hassayampa River (in central Arizona) for the title of
the world's driest river. If it rains hard, it can flood big.
